Pennal Seren is our foundation mare at Llwynhywel. Given, as a foal, to Esyllt & Sian by their grandfather William Harris of the Pennal Stud. Seren has proved to be a most valuable brood mare having produced colt foals to the value of £1000 in 1991 & the mare Llwynhywel Model Mai £3500 in Oct 2001 at the Builth Sales (see photo in 2002 journal).

Seren has only been shown twice in her life gaining 7th at Lampeter out of a class of 36 and 1st at Llanilar show. Seren's foals are better known in the showring.

Llwynhywel Model Mai taking 1st prize at Llanilar, together with reserve champion in the cob section (some achievement for a foal), with 6 other 1st prizes, also taking the Ceredigion Foal Supreme Championships R.W.A.F. Show.

Llwynhywel Seren Aur in 2000 winning 10 1st prizes, from 11 shows, only to be beaten by Llwynhywel Martini.

All the Llwynhywel mares and youngstock are descedants of Pennal Seren.
